Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MPs Ponnam Prabhakar and Rajaiah today took serious exception to Telugu Desam party Telangana leaders for trying to stake claim for statehood to the region. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here they appealed to the people to bury the Telugu Desam party for shedding crocodile tears and deceiving people in the name of Samaikyandhra.
They lambasted that TD Chief N Chandrababu Naidu was playing dual standards and misleading the people for dirty politics. Ridiculing the attitude of Babu for trying to prevent bifurcation by offering about 30 seats to BJP, they accused TD Chief of belittling the democracy process. Naidu made deliberate attempts to scuttle T process and now resorting to spewing venom, Telangana TD leaders pretending to be in a deep slumber and failing to understand Babu’s nefarious designs, they suggested. Is it not Naidu who provoked Seemandhra leaders like Kesav and MP, M Venugopal Reddy’s protest in Parliament, they sought to know.
We the Congress played Lion’s role in carving out Telangana state they said adding that the TD cannot claim that its letter helped to carve out the state. The Telangana leaders should at least now understand Naidu’s dual attitude and quit their party for the cause of Telangana, they said. Despite, the BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu’s dual talk of insisting on ‘justice’ to Seemandhra it was Sushma Swaraj prevailed up on their party in passing the T bill in Parliament. In fact the Congress will come to power in both the regions during general elections, they said. The Congress party has taken a bold decision on the statehood.
