Hyderabad: Till now, there was a fight over a separate state. But now, with one hurdle overcome the bone of contention now seems to be Hyderabad. It’s a known fact that every party is taking credit for Telangana. However, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is an exception. He’s decided to target the capital city of Seemandhra which has been a hot talk in political circles.
While several pro-Seemandhra leaders including Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are arguing that developing another city like Hyderabad would take an eternity, Naidu is all out to assure people that it’s no big deal. What with him taking the credit for developing Hyderabad and making it what it is today.
This seems to be the key poll strategy that Naidu will adopt. The TDP chief claims that he knows how to build a capital for residual Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing an extended meeting of the Seemandhra TDP Forum organised on Monday, following the passage of the Reorganisation Bill in the Parliament, Naidu said: “The Congress leaders are creating confusion with different statements on the new capital. The next government alone can take a decision on the capital. The TDP will build the capital for Seemandhra which will have all the facilities. TDP has all the capabilities to develop Seemandhra. We know how to build a new capital. If we ask YSRCP to build a new capital, they will build Chanchalaguda jail. When there was no vision for country, we built vision 2020, ” Naidu added.
Taking a jibe at his political rivals, Chandrababu said: “As mentioned earlier, TRS will be merged with the Congress before the elections and YSRCP too will follow suit after the elections. Kiran and YSRCP’s High Command is 10 Janpath, but TDP’s high command is public.” Chandrababu also asserted that KCR had done nothing to develop Hyderabad except Vasools (collecting money for favours).
“What has Kiran Kumar Reddy done to the public to launch a new party?” he asked. Criticizing YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said that the latter only knows about Chanchalaguda jail.
“Congress party has created a rift between the Telugu race to damage the image of TDP. Our party will win in the elections of both the states. Our cycle will zoom to win in both the states,” Chandrababu said during a brainstorming session with Seemandhra TDP leaders to prepare them for elections.
Several leaders are expressing their desire to join TDP, but we will allow only leaders who are willing to strengthen the party in their regions, Naidu signed off.
