TRS is the strongest party in the Telangana region. Majority of the people in the Telangana region are in support of seperate Statehood to Telangana. On the other jand, the congress party would not be able to bag atleat one MLA or MP seat.
Keeping the upcoming Elections in mind, the Congress Party is trying to attract TRS by placing a condition for Telangana. The condition is Telangana would be declared if the TRS party merges into Congress party.
Hence, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had agreed to merge with the Congress if statehood is granted to Telangana. The TRS has now said that if a decision would be taken without consulting them, they will not support the Congress in the polls.
“If the Congress takes a decision on Telangana without taking the TRS into consideration, we will give them a strong answer in the polls,” said, N Narasimha Reddy, TRS Election Committee President.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday demanded that the Congress-led UPA Government introduce Telangana Bill in the Parliament.
Talking to reporters here, TRS MLA K. Taraka Rama Rao said that the Congress party was trying to delay the Telangana formation by proposing to table the bill in the State Legislative Assembly. He said that Telangana State could be created by introducing the bill in the Lok Sabha. However, he clarified that the TRS was demanding Telangana Resolution in the State Legislative Assembly to expose the true colours of other political parties on the statehood issue.
