Hyderabad: Three-time Congress MP form Anantapur, Ananta Venkatarami Reddy joined YSRCP in the presence of the party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Ananta was welcomed into the party by Jagan at the party headquarters in the city.
Ananta differed with the Congress high-command on the bifurcation issue and spoke against the decision several times. But he has not spoken up over the last few weeks, even after the passage of the Bill in Lok Sabha.
He had thought of leaving Congress and joining YSRCP few months ago, but id did not happen for unknown reasons.
Along with Ananta, some of his key followers including Reddyvari Nagaraju, N. Satyanarayana Reddy and Ranga Reddy of Tadipatri joined YSRCP.
