TRS has always made clear that once Congress announces Telangana, it will merge immediately but this time the party is moving cautiously saying it will look into merger only after passage of T-bill in parliament. There seems to be a good reason behind this cautious approach.
Well this apprehension may be a reality with reports that Seemandhra leaders in the state and centre have been holding discussions with Congress leadership saying they will pull the party back from the brink in Seemandhra only if it gives Andhra state more powers in Hyderabad.
Even constitutional experts are of the opinion that joint capital cannot function as a part of a new state like Telangana and will have to be controlled by the centre. Hence sources say that TRS fears this will take Hyderabad towards indirect Central rule and slowly towards full Centre rule, something the Seemandhras have been demanding for long.
