Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industries Dr. Daggubati Purandeswari is reported to have written a letter to Incharge of AP Congress affairs Digvijay Singh that she can’t contest from Congress party in the next elections due to the stand the party has taken on Telangana issue.
Political analysts have also concluded that Daggubati couple may leave Congress to join BJP soon. If the reports are to be believed, Purandeswari has informed Singh that the party did not take into consider the concerns of the people in Seemandhra region while bifurcating the state.
Both the minister and his husband and Parchur MLA Dr. Daggubati Venkateswara Rao are in constant touch with the national leaders of BJP to join them soon. The couple came to the conclusion that they can’t get even the deposits if they contested from the Congress party in the next elections.
It may be recalled that Venkateswara Rao had to vote for KVP Ramachandra Rao in the recent Rajya Sabha elections. But, he decided to use the None Of The Above option.
