The latest indication available is his not casting a vote to any of the candidates in the just-concluded Rajya Sabha elections. He has chosen the “None of the Above” (NOTA) option for the first time it is introduced in Rajya Sabha elections.
Though he informed his decision to CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, his indirect criticism of party high-command on the bifurcation issue implies his dissatisfaction with the party.
Actually Daggubati did not stop at that. He faulted KVP Ramachandra Rao without naming him, for spearheading the Samaikyandhra movement since December 2009 and now coming out as candidate for Rajya Sabha. Daguabati said he does not like KVP then resigning as MP in favour of Samaikyandhra and now contesting again.
Spouse of Union minister D. Purandheshwari and co-son of Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, Daggubati has seen the ups and downs of politics over the last few decades. He joined Congress along with his wife just before the 2004 elections.
Going by his latest statement, Daggubati may not like to contest on a Congress ticket this time. However, any indication of his rejoining TDP, is not being liked by TDP cadres in his home constituency of Parchuru.
Banners that came up in support of his re-entry to TDP were torn off by irate TDP workers in the recent past.
