Addressing the media on yesterday’s incident in the Parliament, Kavuri said that the division is not only good for the state, but for the entire country.
He questioned Centre on its intention to divide Andhra Pradesh which was rejected by the State Assembly when it had rejected the demand to bifurcate UP recommended by the UP assembly. “Whenever we approached the GoM with some proposals, they told us Telangana leaders will not agree. Then, how do they expect that we agree to their proposals?” he asked the Centre. He said that public is more important than the party.
He put forth the following demands…
Hyderabad must be made a Union Territory for a period of ten years
Kurnool and Ananthapur should be included in Telangana (Rayala Telangana)
Bhadrachalam should be merged in Seemandhra.
He will support the Telangana Bill at some extent if the Centre agrees to these three proposals, he added.
He claimed that they (Seemandhra union Ministers) had opposed when the Bill was placed as a table item in the Cabinet. Kavuri also said that yesterday’s incident in the Parliament will not set good example. He however, justified the episode saying they were forced to indulge in such acts.
