Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has signed an order which will allow the Police to register cases and take up investigation without the permission of court into a verbal attack by people using harsh language.
This can be a dangerous tool which will muzzle the Opposition especially the likes of Revanth Reddy and Nagam Janardhan Reddy. The Chief Minister already warned that the government will book cases against leaders criticising it.
The Opposition now fears that the government will book cases against any criticism under the pretext of “harsh language” though it was subject to individual interpretation. They say the law should first punish KCR himself because he was the first to use harsh language in public life.
