Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao is gradually turning out to be a de facto chief minister of the state with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao restricting himself mostly to official meetings at his camp office Pragathi Bhavan.
Of late, KTR has been attending various official programmes which KCR should have attended in the capacity of the chief minister, though these programmes have nothing to with his (KTR’s) department.
For instance, KTR attended as the chief guest at a programme to lay foundation stone for Brahmin Bhavan at Gopannapalli. For quite a few meetings, too, KCR deputed his son, instead of him going there personally.
Moreover, KTR is attending all the major review meetings of various departments convened by KCR. It is learnt the chief minister would be present for some time and leave the place, asking his son to continue with the meeting.
KCR is now on a week-long tour to New Delhi and in his absence, KTR was entrusted with the task of running the administration in the state.
The chief minister asked his son to cancel all his engagements and stay put in Hyderabad to run the show, review programmes like Haritha Haaram, Mission Bhagiratha and Sheep distribution schemes.
He will also hold regular meetings with Chief Secretary, DGP and Secretaries to ascertain the execution of schemes.
So, KTR is now gradually getting ready to take the mantle of his father?
