Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chadrasekhar Rao demanded stoppage of the Hyderabad Metro Rail work, alleging large-scale irregularities and payment of ‘bribe’ by L & T to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said a comprehensive inquiry would be ordered into the Metro Rail work soon after Telangana was formed.
Speaking to press persons, after a tour of Nanganur mandal in Siddipet constituency, KCR accused Kiran Reddy of being a beneficiary of ‘bribing’ by real estate developers. He demanded a change in the Metro Rail design to prevent loss of historic structures like Sultan Bazaar, M J Market, Assembly building etc. Referring to TRS-Congress merger, he quipped: “A merger of parties is not a small issue (ashamashiga jaragadu).” He asserted TRS had a clear agenda on reconstruction of Telangana, which should be agreed to by the Congress. “The responsibility of implementing the agenda would rest with us. The party would think of merger with the Congress only after clarity emerged on such issues,” he said
The TRS, he said, had submitted a report to the Group of Ministers (GoM) that Telangana should have complete control over Hyderabad, besides the revenue and finance aspects. In this regard, the party would not agree to any change.
He said that if TDP was really committed to Telangana, it should attend the all-party meeting being convened by GoM and specify what needed to be done to Seemandhra. He downplayed the importance of YSRCP letter supporting united State
