Film star and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu not to invoke Land Acquisition Act on the fertile multi-cropped lands of Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and other river front villages in Guntur District for construction of the proposed new capital Amaravathi.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday expressed his reservations on the proposed land acquisition for the capital construction yet again. The film star turned politician had been voicing his concern against forcible acquisition of land for construction of capital and had at one point of time, threatened to launch an indefinite fast to protect the interests of farmers/land owners.
He tweeted: “Whichever be the country, whoever be the ruler, the price of development of one area or one group always results in environmental pollution, displacement and disgruntlement of another group.” Mr. Pawan said that this was the very nature of the civilisation. “But development with least damage possible lies in the wisdom of the rulers,” he said.
