Hyderabad: PCC Chief Botsa Satyaranaraya today expressed discontent over “poor” financial package given by the Centre for the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh after Rajya Sabha approved the Telangana Bill.
Talking to mediapersons here after meeting with partymen, Botcha said had they made early efforts, the Seemandhra would have got better financial package. “Though we are in favor of Samaikyandhra, we have to abide by the decision of the Centre on bifurcation. We will achieve more financial packages and subsidies by mounting pressure on the Centre”.
He said that instead of demanding that the Centre to keep the State undivided, we could have pleaded for handsome packages and subsidies. Botcha said because they have been pressing the Centre since four to five days, it gave such a package and promises. He maintained that for the first time the Centre gave packages and subsidies to the residuary State after bifurcation of the State, while it did so in a different manner.
