Purandeswari to quit, If Telangana bill introduced


Purandeswari-to-quitHyderabad: Union minister Purandeshwari has said here that should would tender her resignation as and when the Telangana bill was tabled in the parliament.

Speaking to the media after adjournment of the Lok Sabha today, she said she has already written a letter to in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijaya Singh opposing the division of the state. She regretted that there was no proper response from the Centre to their protests, and hence they were forced to agitate in the House today, to reflect the wishes of the people.

The Minister further said that she had already submitted her resignation to the post and she was not attending to official work.

Meanwhile, rumours were making rounds about Purandeswari quitting not only from the Ministry but also from the Congress party. It is said that she had already informed the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi about her decision to resign from the Ministry.
