Hyderabad: What was feared by her, has finally happened. Former Union minister D. Purnadheshwari who has joined BJP recently, has failed to get a ticket to contest for Lok Sabha.
Though she was keen to contest from Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada or Ongole, her name was missing in the BJP list of candidates announced for Seemandhra.
BJP Seemandhra unit president Kambhampati Haribabu is the candidate for Visakhaptnam.
There were unconfirmed reports that TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu has put a condition to the BJP during alliance talks, that the saffron party shall not give ticket to Purandheshwari. This was however denied by BJP leaders.
Similarly, Raghuram Krishnam Raju who joined BJP after deserting YSRCP, could not get the ticket for Narasapuram. The ticket was garnered by Ganga Raju.
Karumanchi Jayaram will contest from Tirupati (SC) constituency. No candidate has been declared for Rajampeta Lok Sabha seat by BJP as of now.
