Former minister N. Raghuveera Reddy appointed as Seemandhra PCC chief. Congress president Sonia Gandhi telephoned him and congratulated him.
Speaking to media persons soon after his appointment as Seemandhra PCC chief, Raghuveera said the post has come to him at a difficult time. He completely backed the party’s decision on bifurcation saying that Congress has in fact, stopped Andhra Pradesh from being bifurcated for the last 60 years.
Raghuveera said he and his PCC team will try to revive Congress party in Seemandhra region if not in the immediate term, but over a period of time.
Though the Congress high-command wanted to anoint current incumbent of undivided Andhra Pradesh Botcha Satyanarayana, as head of the PCC team of Seemandhra, he has reportedly expressed his unwillingness to continue. Till recently former ministers Anam Ramanrayana Reddy and Kanna Lakshminarayna were also in the race.
