Hyderabad: Alleging that the Seemandhra media has destroyed the culture and language of the Telangana region, the TRS secretary general Dr K Keshava Rao has said that the media has to play a major role in reviving the culture and language of the Telangana people.
Addressing a seminar ‘Media Role in Rebuilding Telangana’ organized by the Department of Communication and Journalism at PGRRDE Auditorium here on Wednesday, Keshava Rao said that the media has to expose the irregularities of the contractors from Seemandhra region in constructing the projects in Telangana region. He alleged that the Seemandhra contractors resorted to several irregularities in first and second phase of Jalayagnam.
MLC Prof. K Nageshwar has alleged that the Seemandhra media never highlighted the potentiality of the Telangana region. He said that the Seemandhra media never bothered about the backwardness of the Adilabad district, which had sound resources. He alleged that the Seemandhra media, which highlighted about the Dharanikota, never highlighted about the historical Koti Lingala.
Veteran Journalists Association president and Ombudsman of HMTV GS Varada Chary alleged that the Seemandhra media always distorted the facts of Telangana region. He said that the Seemandhra media never highlighted the facts of the 1969 separate Telangana movement. He said that the people should be careful about the developments taking place these days.
Senior journalist MP Rabindranath said that journalists played a key role during the 1969 separate Telangana movement and even in the present movement. He said that the journalists like Pratap Kishore, Santhapuri Raghuveer Rao, PN Swamy and VB Padmanabam played a major role during the 1969 movement. He exuded confidence that the journalists would play a big role even in rebuilding of the Telangana state.
Telangana News Network (TNN) CEO Pasham Yadagiri has said that rebuilding of Telangana was not a big issue and it is easily possible with the revival of chain tanks in the region. He said that the backward districts of Adilabad (it has five rivers) and Mahabubnagar (it has three rivers) were filled with natural resources and the new governments in Telangana state needed sincerity in using them. He said that the media has to play a constructive role in the new state.
Prof. Madabushi Sridhar has said that it is unfortunate that the judges from Seemandhra region were finding fault with the Article 3 and it is nothing but insulting the constitution. “No body bothers if Seemandhra leaders like Vundavalli Arun Kumar and Lagadapati Rajgopal found fault with the Article 3 but the honorable judges from Seemandhra region are founding fault with the Article 3 was unfortunate”, he bemoaned. He said that the media has to expose this sort of things, otherwise the Telangana region would meet irreperable damage.
Prof. Ganta Chakrapani said that the Seemandhra media will easily tuned with the Telangana state because they wanted to fulfill their interests in new state.
