Suicide attempt by TDP MLA over Bifurcation

tdp-MLAHyderabad: A TDP MLA allegedly tried to commit suicide to protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Madugula MLA Gavireddy Rama Naidu poured kerosene over his body and was about to light a match stick when the police stopped him just in time.

Protesting against the Lok Sabha’s passage of Telangana Bill, Samaikyandhra supporters held agitational programme at Madugula. The TDP MLA was one among the protesters. In a sudden move that shocked onlookers, the MLA attempted to set himself on fire. Alert CI Visweswarayya stopped the TDP MLA’s self immolation, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, Seemandhra region is observing a day-long bandh today to protest the Bill’s passage in the Lok Sabha.

The general concern is that if an MLA resorts to such acts, what message will he convey to the public. It is a known fact that many people have ended their lives over pro and anti Telangana cause. However, being a public representative, it is wrong to resort to such acts.
