Hyderabad: It looks like senior Telugu Desam Party Dalit MLA from Tungaturthi in Nalgonda district Mothkupalli Narsimhulu is evincing interest in joining the Congress party to secure his political future.
Mothkupalli is seething with anger against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for denying him Rajya Sabha ticket and preferring rich upper caste leaders from Seemandhra. Though Garikapati Mohan Rao claims himself to be a Telanganite, he is a Seemandhra settler in Warangal running AP Rayons industry.
When Telangana TDP leaders tried to pacify him, Mothkupalli shouted at them saying how they could remain silent when Naidu was so blatantly favouring Seemandhra leaders. He refused to meet Naidu after the Rajya Sabha episode. Instead, he was found moving with the Telangana Congress leaders in the Assembly lobbies.
He held parleys with Congress leaders like K Jana Reddy, Damodar Reddy and Palvai Goverdhan Reddy who hail from Nalgonda district. They reportedly assured him that he would get a better treatment if he comes to the Congress fold.
The Congress party feels that Narsimhulu’s entry into the congress would help the party to get the support from the SCs(Scheduled caste) in the constituency.
