Telangana Martyr’s mother demands TRS ticket


shankarammaNalgonda: Shankaramma, Mother of K Srikanthachary, who set self ablaze for Telangana cause, threatened to immolate self if she was not given TRS ticket for Palakurthi MLA seat in Warangal district. She said she would end her life like her son.

Shankaramma met TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and demanded Palakurthi seat for herself.  However, KCR flatly refused and an angry Shankaramma staged a protest in front of KCR’s residence. She said she too would go her son’s way and immolate self if she was not made the party candidate within three days.

Shankaramma has said that while she wanted MLA seat, KCR had offered an MLC seat.

24-year-old Srikanthachary of Nalgonda, who was doing a physiotherapy course, set self ablaze protesting against TRS chief’s arrest. A resident of Nalgonda, Srikanthachary was living in Chaitanyapuri and was the office-bearer of the LB Nagar TRS youth wing. After KCR’s arrest, he climbed the pedestal of Ambedkar statue in LB Nagar and set himself afire.
