New Delhi: BJP says it is party with a difference. But it is no different in not tolerating ‘indiscipline’ as most of other parties. Here is an example.BJP MLA Yannam Srinivas Reddy said he is withdrawing his statement made against party’s senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu.
Speaking to reporters here, Srinivas said formation of Telangana is top-most important for him than anything else. “I have joined BJP for separate statehood of Telangana”, he said.
Srinivas had made some remarks against Venkahaih Naidu on the issue of Telangana, two days ago. He had said that though the party made an announcement to support Telangana bill without any conditions, Venkaiah Naidu’s remarks were against the party stand. Following this, BJP national leaders took the comments seriously and expressed their unhappiness before state president G Kishan Reddy, and asked him to take steps to settle the issue.
It is said that national president Rajnath Singh also directed Kishan Reddy to ask Srinivas to apologise to Venkaiah Naidu or face expulsion from the party.
As the situation was taking a serious turn in the party, Venkaiah Naidu himself said there was no need of apology from Srinivas, and asked Kishan Reddy to advice Srinivas to work sincerely for Telangana.Following this, Srinivas said that he is withdrawing the statement made against party leader Naidu.
