Hyderabad: Breaking her silence over the state’s bifurcation issue for the first time since 2009, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said that the “decision on Telangana is over and there is no going back or changing the decision now”.
Gandhi also hinted at constituting an official committee to look into the fallout of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media briefly on the issue during the inauguration of the National Media Centre in New Delhi, the Congress president said, “In addition to the Antony co-mmittee, one more official committee might be constituted to look into issues affecting (the state) on account of bifurcation.”
She, however, did not elaborate further.
With this the Congress president made it clear that the decision to divide the state was final.
