KCR-Digvijaya-SinghNew Delhi: Just days after it denied reports that it will merge with the Congress, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has reportedly “indicated” that it is ready for it.

“The TRS has indicated merger with the Congress,” the party’s Andhra Pradesh in-charge, Digvijaya Singh said, adding that the modalities of the merger were being worked out.

K Chandrasekhar Rao, who was at the forefront of the Telangana movement for 10 years, had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi days after Parliament passed the Telangana Bill.

He, however, had refused to comment on the details of the meeting, with Andhra Pradesh Congress leader Sarvey Satyanarayana indicating clearly that the Congress would love to have him on board.

“We are expecting the TRS to join us. Rao has been saying that he would work with Sonia if Telangana was created. Now that the Bill has been passed, there is no reason for him to continue as a separate entity,” he told the media.

KCR, on his part too, had mentioned that he would stay in touch with Digvijaya
