YSR did not send us to Delhi with separate Telangana demand: G Chinna Reddy

chinna-reddyHyderabad: Telugu Desam Party, which has been desperately trying to malign the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, by alleging that that former chief minister took initiative for separate Telangana by sending 41 MLAs of Telangana to New Delhi. TDP leaders have been making allegations that YSR spoke in favour of Telangana in his padayatra.

G Chinna Reddy, senior leader from the region and a vocal supporter of separate Telangana state, made sensational comments while participating in a discussion program on a TV channel. Chinna Reddy categorically refuted the allegations that YSR had any role in sending 41 MLA to Delhi. “YSR was always a integrationist. In fact, YSR vehemently opposed to separate statehood to Telangana” he said.

Chinna Reddy, who headed the delegation of 41 MLAs to Delhi, said “We told YSR of meeting Sonia Gandhi to brief her about the problems in Telangana. But we had submitted a letter to her of our demand for a separate Telangana state. Rajasekhara Reddy was not aware of this”. It remains to be seen how TDP reacts to this as Chinna Reddy himself made it clear that YSR was not behind their visit to Delhi.
