Aamir-Khan-set-to-ink-a-Rs-Aamir Khan has set some unimaginable records at the box office over the past few years. His last release, Dangal, made more than Rs 380 crore at the Indian box office alone. From our reckoning, his next, Thugs Of Hindostan will break the Rs 400 crore barrier too! With immense popularity for his films and such a huge fandom, he is a man that every brand wants. And looks like, the actor has once again set new standards, this time in the commercial deals space. Aamir Khan is reportedly going to ink a Rs 500 crore mega deal with Netflix for the digital rights of his movies…

A source close to Aamir Khan’s production house revealed to Mid-Day that Netflix is intending to purchase the exclusive digital screening rights of all the films made under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions. The source added, “The deal, which is going to be worth Rs 500 crore, will give the online streaming giant access to almost the entire filmography of Aamir.” Aamir Khan Productions has the biggest blockbusters of the actor’s career – from Lagaan to Taare Zameen Par to Dangal. So it is a win-win situation for both the parties here.

Earlier, we had revealed to you how Netflix had offered nearly Rs 120 crore for the digital rights of his next movie – Thugs Of Hindostan. Confirming that this new deal would also include his next movie, the source mentioned to Mid-Day, “There are also talks that the contract will include exclusive digital rights to the actor’s upcoming movie – Thugs Of Hindostan. It is just a matter of time before the announcement is made.”

For those of you who don’t know, the owner of Netflix – Reed Hastings had met Aamir Khan at Shah Rukh Khan‘s production houses a few weeks back. Netflix had signed a deal with Shah Rukh Khan’s production house – Red Chillies Entertainment earlier in the year for the access to 60 films under the banner. And after meeting Aamir, Reed gave him an offer of Rs 20 crore to buy Dangal‘s digital rights. They even offered a Rs 120 crore deal for Thugs Of Hindostan. But looks like after a long discussion, Netflix has offered Aamir Rs 500 crore for all the films made under his banner, along with Thugs Of Hindostan.
