The High Court not only dismissed the petition but also fined a sum of Rs 50,000 for wasting its time.
A source close to the film said, “Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena contested that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film had no artistic relevance.”
In its decision, the court questioned the petitioner’s sagacity as the party has not viewed the film yet because it has not been commercially released.
“In any event, the effect of the words, titles and scenes will have to be judged from the standards of a reasonable, firm and courageous people, not from that of a weak and vacillating mind,” sums up the source.
‘Ram-Leela’ is slated to release on November 15.
