Last week, pro-Kannada groups protested against the release of Baahubali 2 in Karnataka after actor Sathyaraj’s controversial speech during Cauvery water crisis.
Speaking about the issue, Rajamouli, in an interview with India Today, said that it’s not right from their part as the comments made by Sathyaraj were nine years old.
Baahubali: The Beginning shattered box-office records when it released in 2015. In fact, it became the first dubbed film in Hindi to gross Rs 100 crore.
Made on a lavish budget of Rs 250 crore, Baahubali 2 is touted to have earned more than Rs 500 crore even before its release through its satellite and distribution rights. For the first time in India, Baahubali 2 will release in over 6,500 screens.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali 2 takes the story forward from where Baahubali: The Beginning ended. Also starring Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj, the film is slated to, release on April.
