Even after grossing more than 600 crores and ending up as the highest grossing film in India and third highest grossing Indian film around the world, Tollywood’s pride and India’s biggest motion picture Baahubali has not stopped its dream run at cinemas. In India, Baahubali is still running to full houses in major Telugu towns and even in Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi.
Now, Baahubali will flag off its first international release with the largest populated country in the world, China. Arka Mediaworks, which produced Baahubali, has struck a huge deal with leading film distribution company in China, E Stars Films. The Chinese version will release in November in a huge 5,000 plus screens, before the big Chinese films occupy the screens.
Earlier, E Stars Films has distributed bored Hollywood films like The November Man, Dredd and Riddi , apart from all time blockbuster of India, Aamir Khan’s PK. It is a well known fact that PK collected more than 100 crores and we will have to wait until the year end to see how big Baahubali will end up collecting in Mainland China. Hollywood editor Vincent Tabaillon of Taken 2, Now You See Me fame has edited out 20 minutes from the film to suit foreign audiences.
