It was only last week that it was celebration time for Alia Bhatt on the sets of Brahmastra in Bulgaria, as she turned a year older. However, the actress injured her shoulder while shooting for an action sequence just two days later, and is currently wearing a sling, reports Mumbai Mirror.
Alia has been asked to slow down for the next few weeks to avoid aggravating the injury further. She is in no mood to halt shooting, and has requested to remain in Bulgaria. However, the team will refrain from filming any heavy-duty action scene involving Alia, till she is back on her feet.
The spokesperson of Brahmastra confirmed the news and told the publication, “Yes, on Saturday, Alia injured her shoulder while filming an action sequence. The schedule has been tough and challenging on several levels and this accident has set us back by two days.”
“However, our highest priority is Alia’s recovery. She has been advised minimal movement of the arm which means she cannot resume filming her action sequences in the near future to prevent any further trauma to her shoulder,” the spokesperson added.
Brahmastra, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy, is currently being shot in Bulgaria. The film is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and will be made as a fantasy trilogy, the first installment of which is slated to release in 2019.
