Popular Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest film ‘Padmavati’ landed into controversies and there was so much hungama to ban the film. The Rajput community raised allegations that the historical facts were distorted in designing Rani Padmavati Devi character and the Rajput community was shown in bad light. They demanded the government to ban the film.
They have announced Rs.10 crore prize each for killing Sanjay Leela Bhansali, heroine Deepika Padukone. They warned that they will kill Bhansali and they will cut the nose of Deepika Padukone. The Chief Ministers of UP, Rajasthan, MP felt that law and order situation will get worse if the film is released. Considering the developments, filmmakers have temporarily postponed the release of the film.
Censor board members, the committee of historians discussed the issue and suggested a few changes along with the change in the title. The makers have agreed to changes including the title change to ‘Padmavat’. Censor board finally certified the film with U/A. As they got a green signal from censor, the makers have decided to release the film on January 25.
We have to wait and see how Rajput Karni Sena is going to react to the film after the release. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s latest film ‘Padman’ scheduled for release on the same day. So, ‘Padmavat’ has to fight with ‘Padman’ at the box office.
