Catherine Tresa, who made her T-Town debut with Chammak Challo, created a splash in tinsel town with Iddarammayilatho. Post her stint in the Allu Arjun-starrer, the former model has been receiving a number of offers to star opposite some of the biggest stars in Tollywood. In fact, the actress was offered roles in NTR Jr’s Rabhasa, Ravi Teja’s Power and Manchu Vishnu’s recently released, Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda. However, she turned down these films, for the lack of “good author-backed roles”.
According to sources, Catherine, who considers herself to be a versatile actor, doesn’t want to accept ‘blink-and-miss’ roles. Though the offers from big star movies are lucarative, she’s taking time before giving her nod to filmmakers.
“Catherine has been approached for several big budget Telugu films. But she turned them down. It’s not because she is choosy, the offers just did not excite her as an actress. She wants to prove her mettle as a performer and not just a glam doll,” says a source close to the actress.
Apart from enjoying critical acclaim for her performance in the recently released Krishnavamsi’s Paisa, Catherine will be soon seen in a pivotal role in Gunasekhar’s Rudramadevi and a couple of Tamil films.
