Aditi Rao Hydari’s phone has been ringing off the hook ever since the release of the Sammohanam teaser. People have been calling in appreciation of her attempt to dub her own lines in the romantic drama directed by Indraganti Mohankrishna.
Ask her whose idea it was, and she reveals, “My director and I agreed on it. As the shooting progressed, he wanted me to dub my own lines for more authenticity. I wanted to do it as well, and I put in a lot of hard work. Many people think that I grew up here, but I grew up in the north, and I don’t know the language. But I was determined to dub for my part.”
Aditi says that although she can understand basic Telugu, it was not easy for her to pick up her character’s lines. “Telugu is a beautiful language with a lot of history. I have been working on it so that it helps me get my expressions right. I have always understood basic Telugu, but I don’t speak it. My relatives and grandparents speak a mix of Hindi and Telugu at home. Now, they are all looking forward to seeing my film,” she says.
