Allu Arjun’s recent film Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India has been declared a flop. Distributors have lost nearly 30 to 40 per cent of their money. Interestingly, the producers of the film are immune to the losses because of a non-recoverable advance (NRA) clause in their agreement.
The producers have been able to make profits because of the film’s good pre-release business, and they have even shared the profits with Naga Babu.
Though the film was produced by Lagadapati Sridhar and Bunny Vasu, they made Naga Babu a partner in the project and gave him the title of ‘presenter’.
“Though Naga Babu has not contributed much to the film’s production, he has received Rs 5 crore as his share from the producers,” a source reveals.
It is not an uncommon practice for big stars to include the names of their close relatives among the list of producers, to ensure that they get some money. In this case, it was Allu Aravind, who wanted Naga Babu’s name to be included as the presenter of the film. Actor Mahesh Babu has also been known to name his siblings as his films’ producers.
