No Kabali Effect, Kaala Strikes Jackpot Deal

Rajinikanth enjoys tremendous fan following and no other Superstar can match him in this aspect. We have seen biggest Indian Superstars like Aamir Khan openly accepting the fact that they can’t match Rajini in the fan following aspect. Though Rajini’s last three films ‘Kochadiiyaan’.. ‘Lingaa’.. Kabali might have disappointed at the box office but that doesn’t have an effect on the satellite business of his upcoming film ‘Kaala’.

The latest buzz from the Kollywood suggests that ‘Kaala’ satellite rights have been acquired by Star TV for whopping Rs.75 crores for three languages including Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Though this price is common for Bollywood biggies, it is very rare for South Indian films. Except ‘Baahubali’.. ‘2.0’ no other South film was offered this kind of price for satellite rights. We can say that it is pure Rajini stardom because ‘Baahubali’.. ‘2.0’ have a lot of other selling points apart from Rajini.

Nana Patekar, Eeswari Rao, Huma Qureshi are playing other crucial roles in ‘Kaala’. Santhosh Narayanan composed music. Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ is set to release on April 27.
