The police arrested Tollywood producer Koneru Kiran Kumar on Monday after a court order.
Cops said that Kiran Kumar, who had produced the film Bejawada, had borrowed Rs 1 crore from Prasad Labs Finance two years ago, and had not repaid it. Despite repeated reminders and requests from Prasad Labs the producer failed to return the amount and the Lab has lodged a complaint.
Following the complaint, the court had summoned Kiran Kumar, but he did not respond. The 5th Metropolitan Magistrate Court issued a NBW against the producer and the cops arrested him. The police said that there was also a cheque bounce case filed by Prasad Labs against the producer.
Meanwhile Kiran Kumar claimed that he was ill, and he was admitted to a hospital for a medical examination. Kiran Kumar had earlier produced films like Siddham and Homam with Jagapati Babu and ‘KSD Appalaraju’ with Sunil.
