Salman Khan apologises for controversial tweets about Yakub Memon, says he has complete faith in judiciary

Actor Salman Khan raised quite a few eyebrows on Sunday after posting a series of tweets supporting the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Yakub Memon. Talking about Memon’s impending hanging, Salman said that Yakub’s brother Tiger should be hanged instead.

The hue and cry that the comments created forced the actor to delete his tweets, but here’s what he had said. His father, Salim Khan too condemned Salman’s comments, calling him ‘ignorant’ of the issue and that the tweets were ‘meaningless’.

The tweets sparked a huge protest against the actor with the Hindu Sena asking the actor to render an unconditional apology, while Salman’s posters were burnt at various places in the country. Security was also stepped up outside his Bandra house.

The furore forced the actor to later render an apology and retract his comments. Salman-Khan-tweetsSalman-Khan-tweets-2Salman-Khan-tweets-1
