Rakul Preet Singh was pursuing B.Sc in Mathematics when she was offered the Kannada flick ‘Gilli’ in 2009. She couldn’t say no as a remuneration of Rs 5 lakh was offered to her. For someone who used to receive only Rs 2,000 as pocket money, This is a huge amount and hence she grabbed the opportunity.
After ‘Gilli’ released, Many Kannada Filmmakers approached Rakul but she turned down them to focus on her studies. While ‘Keratam’ marked her Telugu debut, She was launched in Hindi with ‘Yaariyan’ (2013).
Since 2011, Rakul has done nearly 20 films in Tollywood and majority of them were successful. She is making her comeback in Bollywood with Siddharth Malhotra-Neeraj Pandey’s flick. ‘I am open to good roles, whether it’s Telugu, Tamil or Hindi. Language isn’t a barrier anymore That’s what Baahubali proved!,’ she says.
Apart from ‘Spyder’, Rakul Preet Singh is part of ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ directed by Boyapati Seenu. She have a Tamil project and two Hindi films in the pipeline.
