The upcoming Nadigar Sangam (Actors’ Union) election in the Tamil Film industry will take place on 18th of this month. As the poll date is nearing, situations are heating up and causing ugly war between two groups- one led by Sarath Kumar and other by Vishal. The war took ugly turn on Wednesday with actor Simbu who is standing for the post of Vice-President in the Sarathkumar group attacking Vishal in a press meet.
Simbu said Vishal was to blame for the division in the Nadigar Sangam and breaking up the unity within the actors. He stated with reference to Vishal, “What is wrong in demolishing the Nadigar Sangam building and leasing it to SPI Cinemas to build a theatre? What have you done for the Nadigar Sangam to raise questions about it? Where were you when the deal with SPI cinemas was signed? Why didn’t you object then?”
Simbu further stated that they want Nadigar Sangam to be united and for that Sarath Kumar panel is ready to withdraw from the elections.
Sarath Kumar’s wife and veteran actress Radhika questioned Rajinikanth Kamal Haasan stating for their silence over the elections. Urvashi, director Bhagyaraj and his wife Poornima were also present at the press meet.
