It’s going to be an interesting mix of North and South, as Sonam Kapoor and Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan come together for the on-screen adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling novel, The Zoya Factor.
Though this film is yet to go on floors, Sonam and Dulquer have already done a photoshoot, which has excited fans.
Sonam shared a photo on her Twitter handle, where she and Dulquer are posing with a copy of the novel. The film will hit theatres on April 5, next year.
“Super happy to be a part of this unique story #ZoyaFactor an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s bestseller. Releasing on April 5, 2019! Directed by #AbhishekSharma, co-starring @dulQuer @foxstarhindi #AdlabsFilms,” tweeted Sonam.
Dulquer who is already a big star down South, will make his Bollywood debut with Karwaan, which stars Mithila Palkar and Irrfan Khan. Following this, he will begin working on The Zoya Factor, which will be directed by Abhishek Sharma.
Dulquer tweeted the photo, with the caption, “Now this one is really special for me! Introducing #ZoyaFactor a movie based on Anuja Chauhan’s bestseller. Releasing on April 5, 2019! Co-starring @sonamakapoor, directed by #AbhishekSharma. #AdlabsFilms @foxstarhindi.”
Talking about the film, Sharma said, “Cricket woven into a rom-com and touching on superstition and luck, it’s an amazing book for a screen adaptation. The book has many layers, characters and tracks, so it took Neha Rakesh Sharma some time to pen a tight screenplay and Pradhuman Singh to write the dialogues. Now, we’ve gone back to Anuja who’s happy with the script to polish it and work on additional dialogues as nobody knows the characters better than her.”
The Zoya Factor revolves around a Rajput girl Zoya, who meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job, as an executive in an advertising agency. She becomes a lucky charm for the team in 2010 Cricket World Cup. She falls for Nikhil, who doesn’t believe in luck and superstitions.
