Mahesh Babu is one of the biggest stars of Tollywood. He is even popular across India as a handsome actor from South though he didn’t act in any Hindi film till date. If we talk about only South, he doesn’t have market except for the two Telugu states. But he is planning to capture Kollywood market in the recent past.
Though his film ‘Srimanthudu’ dubbed version released in Tamil as ‘Selvandhan’ the result was disappointing. His last film ‘Brahmotsavam’ turned out to be a huge failure in Telugu, so they have dropped the idea of dubbing into Tamil. Coming to the present, Mahesh is targeting Tamil audience with his latest film ‘Spyder’ directed by AR Murugadoss. ‘Spyder’ is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual and Mahesh himself dubbed for his role in Tamil version.
As Mahesh doesn’t have fanbase in Tamil Nadu, ‘Spyder’ team is planning a special event in Chennai on September 9 to bring hype on the film. The makers said to have designed a special concept to introduce Mahesh to the Tamil audience. Everything including his way of dressing, walking style, speech have designed according to the concept.
Except ‘Baahubali’ films, no other Telugu film has shown impact at the Tamil box office. No Telugu hero has captured Tamil market like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan did. It is interesting to see how Mahesh is going to conquer Tamil market now.
