Sridevi’s fan Google CEO Sundar Pichai hails her as an ‘pioneer’ & ‘inspiration’

Sridevi’s untimely death has cast a pallor of gloom over the nation. From actors to corporates and general public, her fan following ran in millions. The lady has been part of immortal films like Sadma, Chandni, Lamhe, Gumraah and Nagina to name a few. Her final rites were held two days back in Mumbai after her husband, Boney Kapoor brought back her body from Dubai. She was only 54, and had a great deal left to offer to Indian cinema. Sridevi has done 300 films so far in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. She is survived by two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi. One of her fans, Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted: “Her performance in Sadma was one of my favorites and have special memories of watching Sridevi with my family. She was a pioneer and an inspiration to so many of us. So very sorry for your tragic loss and may she RIP.”

Sridevi had gone to Dubai to attend the wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah. She stayed back after the trip to enjoy a small vacation. The actress fell down in the bathroom and injured her head on the bathtub and later accidentally drowned in it. It happened at the posh five star hotel, where she was staying. The news sent shockwaves across India and the whole film industry was in mourning.
