Striking Similarities Between Baahubali And Prabhas’ Mahindra ad

Prabhas-Mahindra-adThe much awaited ad film of Young Rebel Star Prabhas’ first brand endorsement for Mahindra TUV300 was released yesterday. In the 60 second film, Prabhas was seen for hardly 10 seconds in just 4 shots. Fans were little disappointed with such a short screen space for their favorite star.

And now, here are a few striking similarities between the Mahindra TUV300 ad film and Prabhas’ latest blockbuster, Baahubali. The ad film is set in a desert village with a huge fort in the background, and the shot taking was almost similar to Baahubali while establishing the fort and the village surroundings in a few quick shots.

Then begins all the action of kidnapping of a school boy and Prabhas entering the scene in a Mahindra TUV300, fighting the goons and saving the boy. Imagine this scene with that of Baahubali/Sivudu rescuing Devasena in the film Baahubali, and a series of shots picturized in the ad film give us a deja vu feeling, with Prabhas escaping through fire and  smashing the walls, except that in Baahubali, Prabhas was on a chariot, while it’s the Mahindra TUV300 here.

And finally, as Prabhas ends the ad with his typical wink at the school boy, one can’t help but recollect his romantic wink at a group of young Mahishmati girls in the ‘Mamathala Thalli’ song.
