Although some Telangana leaders and activists mentioned that there would be no trouble for the film industry after bifurcation, we hear that there is a talk on shifting base of the establishment. It is seen that most of our Tollywood stars hail from Andhra and they are also conscious about the major tax exemptions in the bifurcated state.
The decision on shifting base seems to be firm but that might happen at any point in time. Since Hyderabad is going to be the common capital for the next ten years, the T-Town might take things slow. There are two locations that had been shortlisted so far and they are Vishakapatnam and Tirupathi. It might be Vizag since the city has beach locales, spacious locations, well laid roads, sufficient development and also studios are set up here already.
However, Vizag is far away from Chennai where all post-production labs, recording theatres, music and shooting studios are present. Tirupathi is a closer and feasible destination and stars are now eyeing on the Temple City.
T-Town has also got an offer from Tamil film industry to shift back their base to Chennai like it used to be before. However, it wasn’t accepted. But the TFI has decided to depend upon Chennai for other works until the infrastructure is developed here. Let’s wait and see which city would be T-Town’s next destination !!!
