Veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao has announced that his last film will be a mythological, based on the epic of Mahabharatha. “I will make a five-part series on Mahabharatha. The script work for two of the parts is already done. This will be my last film. I won’t do films any more,” Dasari has said.
Dasari also has plans to make a love story with an all-new casting. “That will be a sensible love story. You won’t find the youngsters speaking sarcastically or opposing the elders like in today’s romantic comedies,” Dasari said.
The director, who found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for making about 150 feature films, will celebrate his birthday on May 4. Still passionate about films, Dasari is always at the forefront of standing up for those who want to make the industry a better one. He recently encouraged the Ram-Lakshman duo for coming up with a Cinema Day. “They came up with this idea. They have conceived a very noble idea. In fact, when the Telugu film industry was based in Chennai, we were celebrating something of that sort. We will work toward making their idea come true,” he said.
