Tollywood’s Hat-Trick Pairs

prabhas-anushkaThey have scorched the screen before, did an encore and are now gearing up to get third time lucky. Telugu cinema will see hit jodis coming back together to create on screen magic again

Naga Chaitanya & Samantha
Movies: Ye Maaya Chesave, Autonagar Surya (post production) and Manam (shooting in progress) What makes them click: Chaitanya’s first hit, Ye Maaya Chesave saw Samantha making her debut in Telugu cinema. After the movie hit BO gold, there was no looking back for Sam, who is now considered a lucky mascot in T-Town (Girl with the ‘Golden Leg’, if you please). With two more films opposite Samantha, trade pundits hope the repeat of their on screen magic works wonders for Chai’s career.

Prabhas & Anushka
Movies: Billa, Mirchi and Bahubali (shooting in progress) What makes them click: The only man in Tollywood who possesses a swagger like no one, Prabhas is hot! With Bahubali in the offing, the actor has beefed up and is raring to go. Meanwhile, Anushka is Tollywood’s complete bombshell — tall, voluptuous and sexy. Together, the duo sizzle on screen and how! Probably the tallest on screen pair, they share a comfort level that makes their jodi tick at the BO.

Nagarjuna & Shriya
Movies: Santosham, Nenunnanu, Boss (cameo) and Manam (shooting in progress) What makes them click: The sexiest 50-year-old this side of the Vindhyas, Nag spells debonair like no one else. Shriya on the other hand, still flaunts a sexy bod. Thanks to her classic features, Shirya’s appeal is still strong among the masses. The duo are a proven hit pair on screen and the makers are hopeful of recreating their magic on the 70mm once again with the Akkineni multistarrer, Manam. Fireworks in the offing.

Jr Ntr & Samantha
Movies: Brindavanam, Ramaiya Vastavaiya (shooting in progress) and Rabhasa (in the pipeline) What makes them click: The quintessential urban girl next door, Samantha forms a formidable pair with NTR Jr, who is a complete ‘mass hero’. This unconventional combo proved to be a hit in their first big screen outing together and makers hope to recreate the magic.
