Mahesh Babu-starrer Srimanthudu might have entered into its 4th week. Yet it didn’t deter the film in setting cash registers ringing. The movie said to have picked up during the fourth weekend and continued its successful stint. Distributors are amazed with audiences flocking to theatres with families and film raking in moolah even in fourth week of its release.
“Srimanthudu collected Rs 35.5 Lakh share on 4th Saturday (Aug 29) alone in Nizam. The Sunday collections were far high than this figure. Apparently, the movie said to have collected close to Rs 80 Lakh share during 4th weekend in Nizam. The situation is no different in Andhra, Ceded. In Guntur, Vijayawada and Vizag, Srimanthudu is getting strong week by week,” said a senior film distributor adding that the film’s collections on 4th week are resembling its 2nd week collections. “This clearly shows that repeated audiences are coming to theatres. This is very positive sign in the industry,” he added.
Though director Koratala Siva chose a less traveled path, by dealing an emotional film laced with morals, values, movie lovers lapped up the film unanimously making it the second highest grosser in the Telugu film industry and highest in Mahesh’s career ever. Trade analysts are now wondering on which magical figure Srimanthudu would close at. Needless to say that first-time producers Naveen, Ravi and CV Mohan, who struck a gold with Srimanthudu, are laughing all the way to the bank.
