CHENNAI: An 18-year-old actor has filed a complaint with the Royala Nagar police alleging that a film director had tricked her into doing some intimate scenes with a brand of libido enhancing pills in her hand.
In the complaint filed on behalf of actor Bhagyashree, her mother Nirmala feared that the movie might show the young woman in a bad light and that the footage may be used as an advertisement for the pills.
Nirmala, a resident of Saligramam, said that she approached film director K C Ravi Devan, who produced ‘Kalla Thuppaki,’ who gave her daughter a chance to act in the movie ‘Dhasarathanin 300 manaivigal.’ Claiming that he wanted to test Bhagyashree’s performance before starting the film shoot, they arranged for a ‘test shoot’ in a house in Kothari Nagar, Valasaravakkam on Thursday.
“They arranged for the test shoot claiming that a leading actor would do the movie and that they wanted to see my daughter’s performance. But she was made to shoot some intimate scenes with a stranger,” said Nirmala. Since it was a test shoot, Nirmala said she accepted the deal.
Two scenes were taken in which Bhagyashree was dressed up as a bride for a scene in a bedroom. The actor was given a box and was asked to cover it with her saree. Nirmala, who accompanied her daughter for the shoot, grew suspicious and found the box had a label of libido enhancing tablets. When she complained, the film crew said it was a part of the film script.
“Though we were not satisfied with the explanation, she was forced to act in the scene. We have come to the city with the dream of Bhagyashree making it big in the film industry,” said Nirmala. “Now we fear that they may use the clipping for a commercial of the tablets or in some porn film. This will tarnish her image. My daughter is just beginning her career,” Nirmala said.
Nirmala said that the director refused to show them the scenes after they were shot. She also said she saw another crew in the same house shooting some other intimate scenes during the day. Bhagyashree has already acted in two films, Uyiruku Uyiraga and Nadodi Paravaigal, which are yet to be released.
Devan could not be reached as his phone was switched off.
