Why Did Allu Arjun Not Do Geeta Govindam?

Allu Arjun did movies like Parugu, Varudu, Son of Satyamurthy that were completely family entertainers and not mass masala films.

He has been selecting scripts to showcase his versatility and also give audience something new from his side, every film.

When you see such a winner like Geetha Govindam, not having him as lead but produced by his father, Allu Aravind and friend, Bunny Vasu, one wonders, what could be the reason?

Parasuram the director, explained it in a interview. He said, “Allu Arjun liked the story and he has been great help to me while scripting the film.

I should be thankful and will always be thankful to Allu family, as they supported my vision throughout and also, gave me valuable inputs.

Allu Arjun was in two minds whether to do this film or not, as he just completed Sarrainodu, during the time.

Even though I took the script first to him, I did not want him to do it after Sarrainodu. With Sarrainodu, his image changed and expectations from him also changed.

So, even when he said he might consider with few changes, I asked him to not to and we agreed that I will write a much better script for him soon. I hope I can deliver and make him work with me one day,” said Parasuram.
