That’s a bit of shocker! Anne Hathaway admits that she lied about her pregnancy to the makers of Colossal before filming! In fact, the actress was quite far along with her pregnancy when she came onboard for the film and lied about the fact that she’s with child. Opening up about her first pregnancy and motherhood in an interview, Hathaway confesses that she lied about her pregnancy while shooting for Colossal, despite the fact that she’s usually a “very, very bad liar. I get very flushed when I lie, so I am very bad at keeping secrets. People can always tell what’s up. The only secret that I kept, and I will tell you I got really good at lying, was when I was pregnant.” She adds, “I lied about everything having to do with it.”
Luckily, that didn’t affect the film’s production as the director found a positive spin to the situation! During an interview with ABC, she revealed her director’s reaction, “He takes a split-second pause and goes, ‘Your character’s a drunk, you’re bloated, it’s perfect!” she said about his reaction. The 33- year old actress says that filming the movie while pregnant wasn’t much different than how it would be otherwise, aside from having to be a little more mindful. She also admits that being pregnant during Colossal definitely had its benefits too, “If anything, it was great because through the emotional scenes, I was just there,” she says.
“It was very fun for me, because I was pregnant playing a drunk,” she joked to ABC News. “I called [Nacho] and I said, ‘I’ve got some great news for me, I’m pregnant.’ He was … so happy for me [but]after five minutes of just asking questions, he goes, ‘Oh, wait a minute, can you do the movie?’” In case you’re wondering, the diva has been blessed with a baby boy. Colossal also stars Jason Sudekis and Dan Stevens in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release this week in India. Oh but fans, here’s something more interesting.
