Remember Venkatesh’s famous line after Nag’s success with Shiva? Yes, “Nag Gadu Kottesadu”. This was revealed by none other than Venky himself during RGV’s “Shiva To Vangaveeti” event.
Cut to present, the iconic battle of Tollywood’s four pillars – Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh – surfaced after longtime. With Chiru’s reentry into films, it’s possible to see the four stars of the generation slugging it out at the Box Office once again in one big year.
Chiru’s comeback with his 150th film Khaidi No.150, Balakrishna’s monumental historic epic Gautamiputra Satakarni and Nagarjuna’s devotional sojourn Om Namo Venkatesaya and Venky’s Guru are the four films that are in contention.
Out of the above four films, three films have already hit the theatres and received positive reviews all over. Chiru’s Khaidi and Balayy’s Satakarni have proved to be blockbusters ringing new Box Office records. Nag’s Om Namo Venkatesaya too opened to great talk and it has to be seen how it’s going to fare well. Trade is expecting the film to have good run given its positive word of the mouth.
The only left is Venkatesh. While Guru’s talk is bleak so far, we have to wait and see. After postponing the film couple of times, the film is now scheduled for summer release. Let’s see whether Venky too will hit or not.
